Anti-Drug Program

Interior Minister and Secretary General of Iran Drug Control Headquarters, Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, arrived in Vienna on Sunday to attend a  session of the ‘Regional Program for Afghanistan and Neighboring Countries’ as well as the 12th annual Ministerial Conference of the Paris Pact Partners on Combating Illicit Traffic in Opiates Originating in Afghanistan.

The conference was first initiated in 2003 in Paris and has 60 member states, reports ISNA.

During the visit, Fazli will also confer with his Austrian counterpart, Johanna Mikl-Leitner, to explore avenues of cooperation in combating narcotics.

He will also meet UNODC Executive Director Yury Fedotov to sign a $20 million joint plan of action against illicit drug trade for 2016-2019.
