7.9kg Renal Tumor Removed

The world’s largest kidney tumor weighing 7.9 kilograms was successfully removed from a female patient at Tehran’s Mostafa Khomeini Hospital.

A team of surgeons headed by urologist Dr. Fereydoon Khayyamfar, removed the tumor as well as the kidney it was latched on to, during the five-hour operation, Borna News Agency reported.

The patient, who is recovering, says she feels “a huge weight has been lifted off her body.”
