The 20-year comprehensive National Program for Children’s Development is one of the priorities of the Health Ministry in the next five-year economic development plan (2016-2021), said Hamed Barakati, head of the Children’s Health Office. “Under the program, all aspects of children’s growth and development will be taken into consideration, including emotional, physical and cognitive development,” IRNA quoted him as saying. Based on scientific evidence, human personality is shaped by the age of eight. Mental and physical health of the people is an essential requisite for national progress, he added.
