Provincial Security Committee Proposed

Sistan-Baluchestan Province’s tourism officials have been urged by the province’s Border Patrol Headquarters to form a committee for improving security for foreign tourists. “We are ready to do our part to provide a safe and secure environment,” said Major Rasoulzadeh, social affairs deputy at the Border Patrol Headquarters, ISNA reported. Echoing Rasoulzadeh’s sentiments, the province’s tourism deputy, Mojtaba Mirhosseini, acknowledged the need to boost security and improve Sistan-Baluchestan’s profile. He called for “subtle security measures” to be taken and stressed the need for cooperation to boost tourism. “A prosperous tourism industry leads to job creation and improves the quality of life of the province’s residents,” he said. Mirhosseini said setting up a tourism police unit at the headquarters is important for increasing public awareness and ramping up security.
