    Glacier Fissures Fixed

Early autumn snow on the heights of Alam-kouh Mountain in Kelardasht county as well as early frost in the highlands, have filled up the deep fissures formed in the country’s largest glacier, IRNA reported.

The fissures had shocked mountain climbers and worried local residents of possible floods. Now the risks of floods are lower, but more precipitation is required for complete restoration of the glacier.

Alam-Kouh, at an altitude of 4,850 meters, is Iran’s second highest peak.
