Master Actor Entezami Turns 91

A ceremony to celebrate the 91st birth anniversary of veteran actor Ezzatolah Entezami was held at the Iranian Theater Forum in Tehran on Monday (June 22).

Managing director of the forum Iraj Rad said, “Entezami, as the head of the forum’s board of directors, has provided us with invaluable help over the years. He even attended our meetings this year despite his ill health,” MNA reported.

Rad said the ceremony is the least the forum could do “for Entezami’s contributions to the field of theater.”It was an informal ceremony in which the actor was presented the medallion of the Theater Forum as a birthday gift to remind him that we still honor him and cherish his works.”

Entezami has acted in more than 100 plays, movies and TV series. He was awarded the Crystal Simorgh for the Best Actor twice at the Fajr International Film Festival. For his numerous memorable roles in different fields of performance, he has been conferred the title ‘Master Actor’.

A graduate from the theatre and cinema school in Hanover, Germany in 1958, Entezami started his stage career in 1941. He has been acting in movies since 1969. His debut performance in Darius Mehrjui’s acclaimed classic film ‘The Cow’ received the Golden Hugo in Chicago International Film Festival in 1971.
