A memorandum of understanding to promote cinematic productions was signed between the ministry of cooperatives, labor and welfare and House of Cinema on Saturday.
In a meeting held at the House of Cinema in Tehran, Ali Rabeie minister of cooperatives, Ali Jannati minister of culture and Islamic guidance, and Hojatollah Ayoubi head of Iran Cinema Organization met with cineastes to congratulate them on the occasion of the Persian new year (starting March 21) and elaborate on the measures taken to enhance their welfare.
After signing an MoU with Alireza Rezadad head of House of Cinema, Rabeie said, “cinema can be the link between the arts, industry and economy, as these three can help underpin independence of the country,” MNA reported.
Pointing to the problems among cineastes Rabeie said, “following talks with the culture minister, we are ready to establish artists’ unemployment insurance fund.”
He also underlined the necessity to support artists with certain diseases like cancer, diabetes, and MS.
