The Family Doctor Plan will undergo significant expansion in the coming year (starts March 21), with 10 million people being added to the program.
Deputy Health Minister Ali Akbar Sayyari said the priority for the Family Doctor Plan in the current year was coverage of rural areas and small towns, a policy that will continue in the coming year as well. Sayyari added that 1,700 new physicians joined the plan, bringing the total number of medical providers to 6,000, he said quoted by ISNA. The plan offers basic emergency, maternal, pediatrics and elderly healthcare.
