The fourth City Council Assistants Election will be held on Friday, (March 13) in Tehran. More than 13,500 candidates are contesting the 3,540 assistant seats to preside over the affairs of the capital’s neighborhoods, Iran newspaper reported. Mohammad Salari, head of the body overseeing the election, told ISNA that 1750 ballot boxes will be set up in city’s mosques and schools.
Every neighborhood will elect 7 permanent members plus 3 reserves to assist city council members in neighborhood affairs.
