Oman is the special guest at the 28th Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) to be held from May 6 to 16 at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Grand Musalla.
Vice-president of the book fair Amir-Masoud Shahramnia said, “In a meeting with the Omani deputy information minister Ali Bin Khalfan Bin Salem al-Jabri, the letter from Iran’s Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance inviting Oman to be the special guest at this year’s edition of TIBF was presented and the Omani official warmly welcomed the invitation, expressing his country’s willingness to take part in this big event.”
TIBF is the main book event in Iran held annually. It will open in the presence of cultural officials and dignitaries and will provide a good opportunity for both Iranians and enthusiasts from other nations to visit the huge event, MNA reported.
Deputy culture minister Seyed Abbas Salehi who is the president of the 28th edition, had earlier pointed out to the significance of the event saying, “Tehran Book Fair is a unique cultural event and is annually visited by Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the president, ministers, members of parliament as well as high ranking officials. It is therefore exclusive and cannot be compared to other cultural events.”
