Stocks Break Losing Streak

Tehran Stock Exchange's main index, TEDPIX, gained 6,945.07 points or 0.32% on Wednesday to end at 2,173,893.39 and the TSE equal-weighted index climbed 0.98%.

About 7.04 billion shares worth 55.62 trillion rials ($123.6 million) changed hands for the day. Trading at TSE and over-the-counter Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.

Tehran Cement Company led the winner’s list as its shares jumped 6.97% to 71,560 rials per share. Leasing Khodro Ghadir Company was the big loser among all TSE-listed companies plunging 6.28% to 7,020 rials per share.

National Iranian Copper Industries Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company, Mobarakeh Steel Company and Telecommunication Company of Iran.

Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Bouali Sina Petrochemical Company, Social Security Investment Company and Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company.

 

IFX Up 0.65%

Iran Fara Bourse main index IFX gained 180.95 points or 0.65% to close Wednesday at 27,997.44.

About 9.1 billion securities worth 142.5 trillion rials ($316.67 million) were traded at the over-the-counter exchange for the day.

Day Bank had the highest number of traded shares at 770.31 million worth 1.11 trillion rials ($2.47 million). Sirjan Jahan Steel Complex was in the lead in terms of growth among all IFB-listed companies climbing 6.91% to reach 5,463 rials per share.

The big loser was Mihan Insurance Company plunging 3.93% to reach 11,500 rials per share.

Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company, Sepehr Saderat Financial Group Investment Company, Iranian Ghadir Iron and Steel Company and Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

Sirjan Jahan Steel Complex gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Iranol Oil Company and Day Bank.
