Tehran Stock Exchange's main index, TEDPIX, gained 71,880.49 points or 3.25% on Sunday to end at 2,285,903.96. The TSE equal-weighted index also advanced 1.87% following a turbulent week that saw indexes plunge to historic lows.
About 27.42 billion shares worth 169.51 trillion rials ($376.7 million) changed hands for the day. Trading at TSE and over-the-counter Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.
Iran Pump Manufacturing Industries Complex led the winner’s list as its shares jumped 6.99% to 32,920 rials per share. Shahed Investment Company was the big loser among all TSE-listed companies plunging 6.97% to 24,680 rials per share.
Parsian Bank contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Zamyad Company, Shahed Investment Company and Amin Investment Bank.
Mobarakeh Steel Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by National Iranian Copper Industries Company, Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company and Esfahan Oil Refining Company.
IFX Rises 2.23%
Iran Fara Bourse main index IFX gained 620.99 points or 2.23% to close Sunday at 28,481.03.
About 12.88 billion securities worth 247.84 trillion rials ($550.76 million) were traded at the over-the-counter exchange for the day.
Day Bank had the highest number of traded shares at 4.28 billion worth 6.21 trillion rials ($13.81 million).
Chaharmahal Food Products and Sugar Company was in the lead in terms of growth among all IFB-listed companies climbing 8.1% to reach 10,680 rials per share. The big loser was Shahed Development and Construction Company plunging 6.87% to reach 23,050 rials per share.
Pasargad Insurance Company, Day Bank, Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Compny and Jahrom Power Plant Development Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Sepehr Saderat Financial Group Investment Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Iran Khodro Diesel Company, Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company and Entekhab Electronic Arman Industrial Group Company.
