    East Azarbaijan Province Exports to 100 Countries

    A total of 2.64 million of non-oil goods worth $1.43 billion were exported from East Azarbaijan Province to over 100 countries during the first 11 months of last Iranian year (March 21, 2022-Feb. 19), registering a 4% rise in terms of weight, but a 3% fall in value, according to Leili Orangi, a local customs official.

    Steel products (such as rebars, sheets and pipes), can and profile, plastic materials and products, chemical and petrochemical products, nuts and dried fruits (such as dates, pistachio and raisin), petroleum products (such as bitumen and industrial and mineral oils), copper products (such as copper tubes and cables), plumbing accessories and fittings, cereal products (such as wafer and biscuit), glass products, machines and mechanical devices were the main products among the 79 types of goods exported during the period.

    The main export destinations were Turkey with $409 million, Iraq with $280 million, Armenia with $198 million, the UAE with $64 million, Azerbaijan with $53 million, Georgia with $41 million, Afghanistan with $39 million, Bulgaria with $31 million, Pakistan with $22 million and Russia with $17 million, IRNA reported.

    East Azarbaijan’s imports from 52 countries amounted to 386,000 tons worth $1.2 billion during the period, registering a 1% fall in weight, but a 17% rise in terms of value compared with the corresponding period of last year.

    Among the 65 types of imported commodities were road vehicles with $363 million (up 214%), machines and mechanical devices and related parts with $164 million (up 31%), organic chemical products with $54 million (up 28%), tobacco with $48 million (down 59%), plastic materials and products with $47 million (up 8%), knocked-down parts for road construction machinery and cars with $45 million (up 6%), wood and wooden objects with $45 million (down 5%), cast iron and cast steel with $43 million (up 25%), electrical machines and devices with $38 million (down 9%) and cocoa powder and beans with $36 million (down 5%).

    The main exports were Turkey with $706 million (up 25%), the UAE with $152 million (up 33%), China with $109 million (up 44%), Germany with $82 million (down 41%), South Korea with $23 million (up 39%), Italy with $18 million (with 243%), India with $14 million (up 119%), Georgia with $14 million (up 159%), Spain with $13 million (down 7%) and Japan with $13 million (down 35%).
