Tehran Stock Exchange's main index, TEDPIX, lost 8,813.33 points or 0.59% on Tuesday to end at 1,492,095.08. The TSE equal-weighted index too lost 0.20%.
About 8.8 billion shares worth 53.8 trillion rials ($185.51 million) changed hands for the day. Trading at TSE and over-the-counter Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.
Dana Insurance Company led the winner’s list as its shares jumped 13.78% to 3,287 rials per share. Razak Pharmaceutical Company was the big loser among all TSE-listed companies plunging 4.96% to 13,600 rials per share.
Mobarakeh Steel Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Social Security Investment Company, National Iranian Copper Industries Company and Middle East Mines and Mineral Industries Development Holding Company.
Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Development and Investment Group Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Dana Insurance Company, Rena Industrial Group Investment Company and Saipa Investment Group Company.
IFX Falls 0.06%
Iran Fara Bourse main index IFX lost 11.89 points or 0.06% to close Tuesday at 19,063.28.
About 6.77 billion securities worth 87.71 trillion rials ($302.47 million) were traded at the over-the-counter exchange for the day.
Day Bank had the highest number of traded shares at 482.18 million worth 320.18 billion rials ($1.1 million). Asia Seir Aras Company was in the lead in terms of growth among all IFB-listed companies climbing 6.86% to reach 7,480 rials per share.
The big loser was North West Housing Investment Company plunging 6.33% to reach 8,580 rials per share.
Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company, Shiraz Oil Refining Company, Iranian Ghadir Iron and Steel Company and Iran Fara Bourse had the most negative impact on IFX.
Zagros Petrochemical Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Minoo Industrial Group Company, Artawheel Tire Industrial Complex and Mehr Ayandegan Financial Development Group Company.
