Cartoner Expedites Packaging

A domestic company has produced a cartoner that can help companies handle fragile products and make significant savings in terms of speed and labor

A domestic company has produced a cartoning machine that can handle fragile products and speeds up the packaging process in industries.

The cartoning machine or cartoner picks up a flat carton (known as a blank), erects it into a rectangular shape, arranges the products, places the product into the carton (or fills it through a vertical flow) and closes the carton by using glue or sticking an adhesive tape on the fold-over lid.

“The cartoning machine can pack more than 10 cartons per minute,” Babak Fard-Sadeq, a member of the Board of Directors of Bahrevar Machine Alborz Company, told the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology.

“The cartoner arranges the products in the desired shape and quantity for loading by using the transfer arm that also picks the arranged bundles and puts them into the carton,” he added.

Some foreign models only fold the carton and the products should be placed in them manually while some others use pressurized air to put products in the carton. But the transfer arm of the domestic cartoner can even put fragile products precisely in the carton without damaging them.

The company official said high accuracy, low waste production and the ability to handle fragile products are among the features of the domestic cartoning machine.

The machine is suitable for factories that manufacture food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and chemical products with a high daily turnover and require packaging at high speed.

The cartoning machine will also be suitable for manufacturing companies that offer their products in a carton and have a high production volume to reduce the cost of manpower.

Fard-Sadeq noted that the domestic cartoning machine is cheaper than foreign counterparts and can give rise to significant savings for manufacturing factories, adding that the production of cartoner has created numerous jobs.

Domestic Laserjet Printer Niftier, Cost-Competitive

A knowledge-based company has produced a laserjet printer with higher accuracy and durability.

A laserjet printer is used to print various specifications on documents and packaging materials of different sizes with high quality, according to the CEO of Aryan Behrang Siyah Qalam Company.

“Inkjet printers use ink, but laserjet printers use light beams,” Asadollah Golestani was also quoted as saying by the news portal of the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology. “

By concentrating light at one point, the intensity of the beam increases and information is engraved on the product by using this concentrated beam,” he said.

“Laserjet printers usually do not use consumables such as cartridges, and print by burning a thin layer on the surface of the product with the help of lasers. And this reduces cost and produces higher quality prints.”

He emphasized that the inkjet printer raises a lot of dirt around the product, but the laserjet printer does not have this problem.

The company’s CEO stressed that since laserjet printers have higher accuracy, they print data with minimal errors and because of its durability, its additional costs are very low.

“The ability to print a variety of shapes, logos and prints is one of the positive features of the domestic device. It can print on plastic, glass, tile, ceramic, stone, natural and artificial leather and various wooden surfaces,” he said.

Priced one-eighth lower than its foreign counterparts, the Iranian device is exported to Iraq, the UAE, Turkey, Tajikistan and Georgia.

Golestani noted that the production of this device has created nearly 60 direct jobs.

Waste Disposal in Environment-Friendly Manner

A knowledge-based company has developed a crusher and offers services to ease electrical waste management in an environment-friendly way.

Kardin San’at Nutrica Company’s crusher handles the disposal of all types of electrical waste, including fluorescent and gas lamps, batteries and toner cartridges, in addition to performing mercury sampling, providing transportation services and undertaking the classification, preparation, transportation and burial of special and industrial wastes.

For instance, the company crushes low-energy, fluorescent and gas lamps before processing them in a recycling center and controls the release of mercury vapors of used lamps into the environment.

The equipment also has a 200-liter tank that can hold 300-350 kg of lamp waste.

Studies show that 2-3% of lamps are broken during storage, handling, packaging and transportation, therefore the use of lamp-crushing device provides a safe and effective mode of disposing industrial waste.

Mercury particulates and vapors are removed during the crushing process by using the device’s built-in filters to prevent any environmental hazard. Reducing the harmful effects of mercury vapor on human health and environment is one of the main advantages of this device.

The crusher helps cut the cost and storage space of waste and saves labor cost during waste packaging and transportation.

Also, this device has other features such as managing the waste of burnt and used lamps, recovering lamp components and improving the waste management and separation systems of industrial complexes.
