    Tehran Stocks Close Slightly Higher 

    Tehran stocks closed the week Wednesday with slight gains in most categories but retail investors’ role in overall trade remained unimpressive. 

    The main index of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX gained 5,264.72 points or 0.37% to end trade at 1,443,712.

    Retail trade reached 20 trillion rials ($64 million) for the day, down 19% on the earlier session. 

    As the day closed, 272 tickers fell and 328 others ended in positive territory with gainers representing 54% of the total stocks.  

    About 4.47 billion shares valued at 26.84 trillion rials ($86 million) changed hands at TSE on Wednesday. 

    Behshahr Industrial Development Company was the to winner as its shares went up 5.92% to 3,562 rials per share.

    Ama Industrial Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 5.35% to 6,900 rials per share.

    Mines and Metals Development Investment Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Middle East Mines and Mineral Industries Development Holding Company, Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines Company and Sepid Farab Kavir Steel manufacturing Company.

    Mobarakeh Steel Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Nouri Petrochemical Company, Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company and National Iranian Copper Industries Company.

     

    IFX Adds 0.2%

    Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, gained 42.77 points or 0.23% to close Wednesday at the 18,861.76.

    About 1.76 billion shares and securities worth 77.12 trillion rials ($248m) were traded at the junior equities exchange.

    Damavand Power Generation Company, Lavan Oil Refining Company, Pasargad Insurance Company and MAPNA Asaluyeh Power Generation Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

    Arya Sasol Polymer Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Zagros Petrochemical Company, Bahman Diesel Company and Pouya Zarkan Agh Darreh Company.
