TEDPIX Adds 0.44%

Tehran stocks recovered Wednesday from a declining trend that lasted for five sessions. 

The benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, gained 6,517 points or 0.44% to end trade at 1,490,051.

Following some promising quarterly reports, four refineries were the big gainers accounting for 4,000 points of TEDPIX’s gain. 

The TSE’s equal-weighted index too gained 0.38% and the TSE-30 Index was up 0.8%. The former index gives the same weight to all shares while the latter tracks the performance of top 30 companies in terms of market cap.

About 5.48 billion shares valued at 34.56 trillion rials ($111 million) changed hands at TSE for the day.

Trading at TSE and junior equities exchange Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.

Iran Mercantile Exchange was the biggest winner as its shares went up 5.96% to 22,400 rials per share.

Iran Construction Investment Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 6% to 1,175 rials per share.

National Iranian Copper Industries Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Middle East Mines and Mineral Industries Development Holding Company, Mobarakeh Steel Company and MAPNA Group Company.

Esfahan Oil Refining Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company, Tehran Oil Refining Company and Tabriz Oil Refining Company.

 

IFX Up 0.56%

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, gained 109.44 points or 0.56% to close Wednesday at 19,807.

About 2.8 billion securities valued at 184.13 trillion rials ($593m) were traded at the junior equities exchange for the day.

Day Bank had the highest number of traded shares as 634.59 million of its shares worth 504.35 billion rials ($1.74m) were traded.

Zagros Petrochemical Company, Tejaratno Insurance Company, Negin Software Systems Development Company and Sirjan Jahan Steel Complex had the most negative impact on IFX.

Arya Sasol Polymer Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Iranian Ghadir Iron and Steel Company, Lavan Oil Refining Company and MAPNA Asaluyeh Power Generation Company.
