Tehran Stocks End Weak Lower

Tehran’s stock market ended trading week Wednesday in the red with the TEDPIX, the benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange, losing 9,730 points or 0.62% to end at 1,564,333.

The TSE equal-weighted index logged smaller losses sliding 0.23%. The index better reflects the performance of small caps. 

Retail trade plunged 29% to reach 35.03 trillion rials ($109 million), which was the lowest in the week. Net capital outflow by retail traders amounted to 3.34 trillion rials ($10.4 million) on Wednesday. 

About 5.56 billion shares valued at 37.92 trillion rials ($118m) changed hands at TSE for the day.

Trading at TSE and the junior equities exchange Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.

Charkheshgar Company was the big winner as its shares went up 5.57% to 18,750 rials per share.

Shazand Petrochemical Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 5.09% to 46,980 rials per share.

National Iranian Copper Industries Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Mobarakeh Steel Company, Esfahan Oil Refining Company and Social Security Investment Company.

Mobin Energy Persian Gulf Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Persian Gulf Fajr Energy Company, Mellat Bank and Sabanour Mining and Industrial Development Company.

 

IFX Down 0.6%

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, lost 132.23 points or 0.62% to close Wednesday trade at 21,349.65.

About 3.1 billion shares and securities valued at 45.15 trillion rials ($145m) were traded at the junior equities exchange for the day.

Damavand Power Generation Company, Day Insurance Company, MAPNA Asaluyeh Power Generation Company and Alborz Distribution Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

Pasargad Insurance Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Zagros Petrochemical Company and Iranol Oil Company.
