TEDPIX Fragile, Small Caps Rally

Tehran stocks closed Monday in positive territory with large caps making slight gains but small caps in better shape. 

The benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange, the market cap-weighted TEDPIX, gained 2,533.94 points or 0.17% to end trade at 1,507,249.

Small caps extended a long winning streak and pushed up the TSE equal-weighted index by 0.8%. 

 A total of 320 tickers gained for the day while 161 others dropped, accounting for 33% of all active tickers. 

Retail trade stood at 53.16 trillion rials ($193 million), almost unchanged from the day before. 

About 10.27 billion shares worth 55.8 trillion rials ($199.3m) changed hands at TSE on Monday.

MAPNA Group Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 5.83% to 17,620 rials per share.

Omid Investment Management Group Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies falling 5.11% to 14,490 rials per share.

Omid Investment Management Group Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Parsian Oil and Gas Development Group Company, Ghadir Investment Company and Mellat Bank.

Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Tamin Petroleum and Petrochemical Investment Company, Mobarakeh Steel Company and MAPNA.

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, gained 80.03 points or 0.39 % to close Monday at 20,825.

About 5.21 billion shares and securities worth  1,814.09 trillion rials ($6.47 billion) were traded at the junior equities exchange.

Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Zagros Petrochemical Company, Saman Insurance Company and Saba Tamin Investment Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

Sepehr Saderat Financial Group Investment Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Damavand Power Generation Company, Iran Cultural Heritage and Tourism Investment Group Company and Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company.
