    Stocks Open Week Mixed 

    Shares in Tehran opened trading week on Saturday mixed amid demand for some large caps in the early hours of trade, but selloff pressure mounted as the session drew to a close. 

    The benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, closed 2,409 points or 0.19% higher to end trade at 1,281,803. The index pared more than 5,000 points of the gains in the early hours of trade. 

    Except for a handful of large cap tickers, namely refinery, basic metals and mineral, most stocks lost value on Saturday.  

    The TSE’s equal-weighted index was down more than 0.4% and the TSE-30 Index gained close to 1%. The former index gives the same weight to all shares while the latter tracks the performance of top 30 in terms of market cap.  

    About 5.07 billion shares worth 39.57 trillion rials ($141.3 million) changed hands at TSE for the day.

    Jam Polypropylene Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 5% to 121,200 rials per share.

    Tehran Stock Exchange Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 4.95% to 7,870 rials per share.

    Nouri Petrochemical Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by MAPNA Group Company, Pardis Petrochemical Company and Shiraz Petrochemical Company.

    Mobarakeh Steel Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Esfahan Oil Refining Company, Tehran Oil Refining Company and Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company.

     

    IFX Loses 0.5%

    Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, lost 84.6 points or 0.48% to close Saturday trade at 17,556.About 3.16 billion shares and securities valued at 32.99 trillion rials ($117.8m) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.

    Zagros Petrochemical Company, Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company, Arfa Iron and Steel Company and Minoo Industrial Group Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

    Bahman Diesel Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Iranian Reinsurance Company, Negin Software Systems Development Company and Marun Petrochemical Company.
