The pressure from sellers of blue chips eased in Tehran’s share market on Tuesday, but majority of penny stocks were hit by the unrelenting sell-off.
The market-cap weighted benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, lost 3,751.91 points or 0.29% to end trade at 1,291,798. The benchmark has lost more than 4% in the past three sessions.
The TSE-30 Index incurred smaller loss and dipped 0.1%. The index tracks the performance of top 30 companies in terms of market cap.
Selling pressure swept through majority of small caps, dragging down the TSE’s equal-weighted index 1.1% on Tuesday
About 11.65 billion shares valued at 50.22 trillion rials ($179.4 million) changed hands at TSE for the day.
Osve Pharmaceutical Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 4.95% to 25,010 rials per share.
Margarine Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 6.65% to 2,315 rials per share.
Iran Khodro Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Ghadir Investment Company, Saipa car company and the National Iranian Copper Industries Company.
Mobarakeh Steel Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Pardis Petrochemical Company, Bandar Abbas Oil Refining Company and Parsian Oil and Gas Development Group Company.
IFB Drops Again
Iran Fara Bourse’s main index, IFX, lost 72.71 points or 0.39% to close Tuesday trade at 18,590. About 1.83 billion securities valued at 92.66 trillion rials ($331m) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.
Hormozgan Steel Company, Zagros Petrochemical Company, Iran Cultural Heritage and Tourism Investment Group Company and Iran Fara Bourse had the most negative impact on IFX.
Arya Sasol Polymer Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Iranian Reinsurance Company, Ghaed Basir Petrochemical Company and MAPNA Asaluyeh Power Generation Company.
