The Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade's review of the current Iranian year’s first four months (March 21-July 22) shows the output of 15 industrial products (out of 29 under review) registered growth compared with the similar period of last year.
Truck and mini truck production stood at 2,573 vehicles, showing a 71.1% year-on-year hike.
Vegetable oil production marked a 46.5% YOY rise to 696,200 tons while that of washing machines rose by 37.6% to exceed 434,900 devices.
A total of 216 combine harvesters were manufactured during the period, showing a 30.9% YOY rise.
The output of refrigerators and freezers went up by 20.4% to more than 692,400 sets.
Carbon black production stood at 52,100 tons, showing a YOY increase of 17.2%.
Swamp cooler production stood at 708,100 devices, indicating a 6.8% YOY increase.
The production of different types of paper exceeded 325,700 tons, up 6.1% YOY.
Particle boards saw a 5.2% YOY increase in production to 299,400 cubic meters while cardboard output stood at 176,500 tons, up 4.2% YOY.
A total of 562,900 cubic meters of fibers were produced over the four-month period, up 4.7% YOY.
Production of petrochemicals stood at 21 million tons, up 3.8% YOY while that of vehicle tires stood at 87,800 tons, up 3.3% YOY
Leather products hit 10.3 million square feet, up 2.5% YOY.
Around 5,937 tractors were manufactured over the four months, indicating a 2.4% increase compared with last year’s corresponding period.
Fourteen products out of the 29 under study saw a decrease in production during the March-July period, compared with the similar duration of last year.
A total of 1,360 tons of acrylic fibers were produced during the period, down 28.3% YOY.
The production of detergent powder stood at 179,300 tons, showing a 17% decline, YOY.
Around 9,850 tons of pesticides and insecticides were produced, down 15.2% YOY.
Polyester fiber production surpassed 52,400 tons, down 15.1% YOY.
A total of 22,415 pick-up trucks were manufactured during the four-month period, registering an 11.3% fall compared with the corresponding period of last year.
The production of polyester filament yarn hit 77,200 tons, down 9.2% YOY.
Electric motor production stood at 2.57 million devices, down 9% YOY.
The output of shoes and other kinds of footwear stood at 34.2 million pairs, showing a 6.7% fall compared with the similar period of last year.
Television production stood at 347,800 sets to register a year-on-year increase of around 4.3%.
Human medicine production stood at 14.6 billion items, down 3.5% year-on-year.
The output of different types of synthetic fiber declined by 2.7% YOY to reach 79,800 tons.
The production of buses, minibuses and vans amounted to 538 vehicles, down by 1.1% YOY while that of passenger vehicles stood at 292,500, down by 1% YOY.
And finally, refined industrial and motor oil production amounted to 205,500 tons, unchanged from last year’s corresponding period.
Monthly Review
The output of 12 industrial products saw growth in the fourth month of the current fiscal year (June 22-July 22) compared with the previous month.
The production of shoes and other kinds of footwear stood at 12 million pairs, showing a 79.1% increase month-on-month.
Leather products’ output stood at 3 million square feet, up 25% MOM.
A total of 111,500 cubic meters of fibers were produced in the month under review, up 14.2% MOM.
A total of 2,065 tractors were manufactured, registering a 12.5% rise compared with the preceding month.
The production of detergent powder stood at 54,400 tons, showing a 12.1% growth, MOM.
Cardboard production stood at 49,000 tons, up 5.1% MOM.
The output of washing machines rose by 3.9% MOM to surpass 125,500 devices.
The output of buses, minibuses and vans hit 164 vehicles, up by 3.1% month-on-month, while that of auto tires stood at 54,400 tons, down 12.1% MOM.
The production of refrigerators and freezers grew by 0.6% MOM to reach 204,800 sets.
Acrylic fiber production stood at 810 tons, while manufacturers did not produce any acrylic fibers in the preceding month.
A total of 6,473 pick-up trucks were manufactured in the month under review, registering a 0.1% rise MOM.

Television production hit 74,300 sets to register a month-on-month decrease of 38.1%.
Around 2,200 tons of pesticides and insecticides were produced in the month under review, down 22.2% MOM.
Particle boards saw a 20.8% decrease in production to reach 61,800 cubic meters while that of different types of paper exceeded 71,000 tons, down 17% MOM.
The production of electric motors was more than 662,500 devices, down 11.9% MOM.
Vegetable oil production saw a 10.2% MOM fall to reach 169,000 tons.
Different types of synthetic fiber production declined by 10% MOM to stand at 18,000 tons.
Polyester filament yarn production stood at 18,000 tons, registering an 8.2% MOM decline.
The output of passenger vehicles stood at 78,900, down 8% MOM.
Refined industrial and motor oil production hit 55,400 tons, down 5.5% compared with the previous month.
Some 75 combine harvesters were manufactured, showing a 5.1% MOM decline.
Human medicine production stood at 4.1 billion items, down 5% MOM.
Carbon black production hit 12,700 tons, showing a decline of 3.8%.
Polyester fiber production reached more than 13,000 tons, down 3.7% while petrochemical production hit 5 million tons, down 2.2%.
