Prices across large and small cap stocks rose on Saturday, extending a rally in Tehran’s share market into the sixth session.
The main index of the Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, gained 25,555.18 points or 1.65% to close trade at 1,575,763.
As usual penny stocks outperformed pushing up the TSE’s equal weighted index by 2.45%. Unlike the market-cap weighted TEDPIX, the equal-weighted index gives the same weight to all shares irrespective of their market cap.
A total of 427 tickers gained on Saturday, accounting for 88% of the market. Trade value by retail investors reached 127.56 trillion rials ($470 million), up 7% compared to the session before.
About 12.44 billion shares valued at 115.7 trillion rials ($413.2 m) changed hands at TSE for the day. Iran Ferrosilice Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 8.74% to 6,840 rials per share.
Navard and Iran Steel Parts Manufacturing Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 3.25% to 221,040 rials per share.
Nouri Petrochemical Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Mobin Energy Persian Gulf Company, Pars Petrochemical Company and Pardis Petrochemical Company.
Omid Investment Management Group Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Parsian Oil and Gas Development Group Company, Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company and Esfahan Oil Refining Company.

Iran Fara Bourse main index IFX gained 410.44 points or 1.84% to close Saturday trade at 22,728.36. About 4.57 billion shares and securities valued at 91.15 trillion rials ($325.5m) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.
Iran Cultural Heritage and Tourism Group Investment Company, Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Sanati Doodeh Fam Company and Saman Insurance Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Pasargad Insurance Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company, Marun Petrochemical Company and Zagros Petrochemical Company.
