Tehran stocks opened in upbeat mode on Tuesday but shed gains during the session to close trade at the flatline.
In the early hours of trade, the main index of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, gained more than 5,000 points before paring later. The benchmark lost 74.76 points or 0.01% to end trade at 1,150,129.
Higher sell-side pressure in most small cap shares dragged down the TSE’s equal-weighted index by almost 0.8% on Tuesday.
About 8.75 billion shares valued at 52.32 trillion rials ($218.02 million) changed hands at the TSE for the day.
Esfahan Cement Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 41.55% to 72,310 rials per share.
Esfahan Cement Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by National Iranian Copper Industries Company, Omid Investment Management Group Company and Tamin Petroleum and Petrochemical Investment Company.
Golgohar Mining and Industrial Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Mobarakeh Steel Company, Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company and Iran Khodro Company.

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, lost 95.7 points or 0.55% to close Tuesday trade at 17,362.04. About 1.71 billion securities valued at 97.54 trillion rials ($406.4m) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.
Minoo Industrial Group Company, Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Esfahan Steel Company and Iran Cultural Heritage and Tourism Investment Group Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Kowsar Insurance Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Kerman Province Development Investment Company, Tukarail Company and Iran Office Machines Industries Company.
