Building on gains a session earlier, Tehran stocks closed trading week slightly higher on Wednesday thanks to large cap shares.
The benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, gained 3,915 points or 0.35% to end at 1,109,369. The TSE’s equal weighted index closed slightly above the flatline at 0.01%.
Food stocks were among the few small caps that made gains. Other winners were mass construction, technical engineering and metal companies plus banks.
About 4.74 billion shares valued at 40.42 trillion rials ($175.77 million) changed hands at TSE for the day.
Razak Pharmaceutical Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 7.07% to 24,680 rials per share. Osve Pharmaceutical Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 18.59% to 28,900 rials per share.
Civil Pension Fund Investment Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines Company, National Investment Company of Iran and Khouzestan Province Investment Company.
Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by the Mapna Group, Mobarakeh Steel Company and Khouzestan Steel Company.

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, gained 29.48 points or 0.17% to close Wednesday trade at 17,582.36. About 907.36 million securities valued at 14.56 trillion rials ($63.3m) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.
Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company, Marun Petrochemical Company, Mapna Asaluyeh Power Generation Company and Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company had the most negative impact on IFX.
Zagros Petrochemical Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Pasargad Insurance Company, Hormozgan Steel Company and Arya Sasol Polymer Company.
