    TEDPIX Down, IFX Rises Slightly

    Tehran stocks opened Monday again under heavy sell-side pressure both in small and large cap shares pulling down almost all stock categories.

    The main gauge of Tehran Stock Exchange lost 14,138 points or 1.19% to end at 1,174,673. Shares of refineries, transportation and mass construction companies were the main losers.

    The TSE’s equal- weighted index slipped 1.11% under renewed   pressure from sellers of small caps. About 4.76 billion shares valued at 33 trillion rials ($143.5 million) changed hands at TSE for the day.

    Navard and Iran Steel Parts Manufacturing Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 4.67% to 170,820 rials per share.

    Doroud Cement Company incurred the biggest loss among the  TSE-listed companies to plummet 40.58% to 11,510 rials per share.

    The National Iranian Copper Industries Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Mobarakeh Steel Company, Omid Investment Management Group Company and Social Security Investment Company.

    Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Tamin Petroleum and Petrochemical Investment Company, Nouri Petrochemical Company and Opal Kani Pars Mining and Processing Company.

    IFB Up 0.51%

    Despite the decline in TSE, the main index of Iran Fara Bourse, the junior exchange, posted gains on Monday. The IFX added 89 points or 0.51% to close the day at 17,757.

    About 920.13 million shares and securities valued at 211.96 trillion rials ($921.6m) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.

    Kerman Province Development Investment Company had the highest number of traded shares as 155.04 million of its shares worth 163.09 billion rials ($709,104) were traded.

    Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company, Esfahan Steel Company, Marun Petrochemical Company and Jahrom Power Plant Development Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

    Middle East Mines and Mineral Industries Development Holding Company gave the biggest boost to the IFX, followed by Pasargad Insurance Company, Zagros Petrochemical Company and Tabas Parvardeh Coal Company.
