National security adviser to Afghanistan’s president, Hamdullah Mohib, is scheduled to visit Tehran on Tuesday for talks on bilateral and regional issues.
Mohib is due to arrive in Tehran for a one-day visit at the invitation of Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani, IRNA reported.
The senior Afghan adviser and Shamkhani are expected to hold talks on bilateral issues, the Afghan peace process and regional developments.
Mohib will also hold meetings with other Iranian security and political officials.
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Abbas Araqchi last week visited neighboring Afghanistan to hold talks with Afghan officials, including Mohib, on mutual relations and regional issues.
During the meeting, Araqchi and Mohib discussed bilateral issues, security and the peace process in Afghanistan.
Araqchi emphasized Tehran’s support for the Afghan government and constitution.
