Q1 Ardabil Province Exports Rise to $32m

A total of 33,548 tons of non-oil goods worth $32 million were exported from Iran's northwestern Ardabil Province during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 20-June 20).

According to Parviz Taqavi, the head of Ardabil Customs Administration, the above figures show a 4% decline in terms of volume but a 6% growth in terms of value compared with the first quarter of the last fiscal year, IRNA reported.

Potato, cement, glass, vegetable, plastic, food and dairy products were among the main exports.

Azerbaijan, Iraq, Turkey, Georgia and the UAE were the top export destinations.

A total of 4,039 tons of goods worth $6 million were imported to the province during the same period to register a 78% and 59% decline in terms of tonnage and value respectively year-on-year.

Machinery, red meat, cotton, paper, cardboard and cosmetics were the main import commoditiess.

Top exporters to Ardabil during the period were Italy, Russia, China, Turkey and Tajikistan.
