No Penalty for Changing, Canceling Travel Tickets

Airlines and rail companies have been ordered by the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development to waive the fees for changing or canceling tickets in light of the ongoing coronavirus spread.

“People can easily cancel their booked tickets and need not worry about this. They can even change their ticket to fully flexible ones, with no fixed departure or return dates,” ILNA quoted Roads Minister Mohammad Eslami as saying.

He called on the public to file complaint with Iran's Civil Aviation Organization, should they encounter any violations on the part of travel agencies or airlines.

According to the Association of Iranian Airlines’ Secretary Maqsoud Asadi-Samani, only those who have bought their plane tickets before Feb. 24 are entitled to a full refund.
