‘Day of Snail’ by Iranian writer Zahra Abdi has been translated into Italian and is now available in bookshops in that country.

Published by Francesco Brioschi Publishing House under the title ‘A Tehran le Lumache Fanno Rumore’(snails make noise in Tehran), it is about a mother, sister and fiancée of a man named Khosrow who was missing in action during the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war, Mehr News Agency wrote.

The book’s rendering has been done by Italian university professor Anna Vanzan who received her PhD in Near Eastern Studies from New York University. Her interest focuses on the history and literature of the Qajar era and relations between Iran and the West. She currently teaches Islamic culture at the IULM University in Milan.
