An environmental art exhibition opened on the first day of Ramadan (June 7) at the Iranian Artists Forum.

The exhibition features photos of Iranian historical buildings, mosques and tombs, which have Qur’anic verses and sayings by poets, Islamic figures and imams about the holy month, Honaronline reported.

The photos symbolically show the merger of Iranian art and Islam, through a display of Islamic-style architecture and buildings engraved with religious scripts and sayings.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting to commemorate the first revelation of the Qur’an to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The exhibition will receive visitors until July 8 at the venue, located at the south side of Honar Garden, North Mousavi St., Taleqani Avenue.
