Executive operations to supply gas to 37 villages in Kohgilouyeh-Boyerahmad Province has started and is to be completed at a cost of $1 million, the managing director of the provincial gas company said.
“In the past two years, 151 villages in the province have been supplied with natural gas,” Reyhan Bahador was also quoted as saying by the Oil Ministry’s news service Shana.
“Natural gas has so far been supplied to 1,058 villages in the southwestern province,” he added.
The official said about 644 kilometers of gas pipelines have been laid across the province in the past two years, providing gas for more than 40,000 people in different regions.
Currently, 100% of urban households and 89% of rural population in Kohgilouyeh-Boyerahmad have been linked to the national gas grid.
In related news, the managing director of Mazandaran Gas Company said gas supply projects in the east of the province are underway with an investment of nearly $1 million.
“At present, 59 cities and 2,577 villages in the northern province are connected to the national gas network,” Qasem Mayeli-Rostami said.
“Over 99% of the urban population and about 96.5% of the rural people have access to natural gas now,” he added.
