Foreign investors have shown interest in Iran’s mobile telecommunications network, said the financial director of Mobile Telecommunications Company of Iran (MCI). “Representatives of several foreign telecoms companies have approached MCI and proposed different partnership schemes,” Abbas Noorbakhsh was also quoted as saying by ICTNA. “Selling shares of MCI to foreign investors will enable the company to expand its presence in the international market,” he said. Following the removal of sanctions, more foreigners are visiting Iran and using roaming services provided by MCI and other mobile network operators. Noorbakhsh said this was one of the main reasons motivating foreign companies to invest in Iran’s telecoms sector.
