12% More Foreign Flights Using Iranian Airspace
12% More Foreign Flights Using Iranian Airspace

The number of foreign flights using Iran’s airspace in the last Iranian year (ended March 20, 2018) increased by 12% compared with the year before, the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development’s news service reported. 
According to data released by Iran Airports Company, a total of 426,684 flights passed through Iranian airspace during the year.
Following the lifting of economic sanctions against Tehran’s nuclear program, Iran’s airspace opened up to international airlines looking for safe alternatives to the skies of regional countries deep in turmoil and unrest.
