Iranian cement producers exported about 4.4 million tons of cement and clinker–the main material used in the manufacture of cement–during the first four months of the current Iranian year (March 20-July 20), according to head of Cement Employers Association, Abdolreza Sheikhan. The figure indicates a 16.9% decline compared to last year’s corresponding period, according to CEA statistics. Cement exports accounted for 58% of the overall figure, ISNA quoted Sheikhan as saying. The 20-Year National Vision Plan (2005-25) stipulates cement production to grow 60% to reach 120 million tons per annum by 2025. The industry is also planning to increase exports by 68% over the next decade to 32 million tons per annum.
