In a bid to scale its activities, major ride-hailing firm Tap30 has introduced a phone service currently operational in Tehran.
Despite the widespread use of smartphones and users increased access to Internet services, there are still many who do not have a smartphone or an Internet subscription.
To address the issue and expand market share, Tap30’s new service enables clients to hail rides by dialing 1630 on their phones, news website Shanbe Press reported.
By dialing the number, users can tell an operator their location and the firm will send the nearest Tap30 driver to pick them up.
Through the new service, Tap30 hopes to gain momentum with the elderly who might be unfamiliar with the application of smartphones. The service can also be handy when users do not have access to the Internet.
The ride-hailing company has been working hard to upgrade its services to compete with rivals.
In addition to economic rides, Tap30 has released a new version of its application trying to add a bit of class to its services.
In one of its upgrades, it introduced a new option titled Tap30 Pro which enables users to choose to ride with a Hyundai or Toyota car instead of the vehicles normally used for taxi services. Tap30 Pro costs some 30% higher than the normal rides.
Tap30 has also launched a women-only service it calls Tap30 Prime.
