With the Islamic Revolution anniversary celebrations round the corner, the link between the two important issues of economy and culture, which was the administrative slogan of the year, was created with the Fajr Access System for the 33rd Fajr Film Festival, February 1-11, said head of Iran Cinema Organization Hojatollah Ayoubi at the unveiling of the access system to the visual resources of the festival on Saturday (Jan 17).
Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati, Minister of Cooperatives, Labor and Welfare Ali Rabiei, secretary of the 33rd Fajr Film Festival Alireza Rezadad, and managing director of RighTel Company Majid Sadri participated in the event.
Describing the present-day cinema as “one of the glories of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Ayoubi noted that “the film festival celebrates our national film industry over the past years and the efforts of all cineastes,” the public relations office of Fajr Film Festival said.
Ayoubi further said due to financial limitations the festival is held solely in the capital Tehran. However, people all over Iran can be properly informed of the events thanks to Rightel, Cell Phone Operator Company and the news coverage it provides for us.”
Media Synergy
The access system has started its operation, covering news on various sections of the festival, which helps the people involved in films feel that “their work is seen by a large number of people across the country.”
Ali Rabiei, for his part, explained the slogan ‘Media in Service of Media’ and said that in order to achieve this goal, “we seek to create synergy among all the media.”
He said the only solution to resist western cultural intrusions is to “reinforce traditional culture and improve the culture-related productions.” He added that “making use of modern technology is an essential means to reach our goal.”
Majid Sabri explained about his cooperation with Fajr Film Festival and said, “in addition to its economic activities in the field of communications, RighTel tries to assist the cultural sector.”
