An adaptation of murder mystery play ‘The Mousetrap’ written by renowned English writer Agatha Christie in 1952 is to be performed in Tehran in early May.
Christie (1890-1976) is known for her 66 detective novels and 14 short story collections, particularly those revolving around her fictional detectives Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple.
The play, directed by Siavash Asad, will go on stage at Shahrzad Theater House. Asad’s play is about a couple who are informed by a lawyer that they are to inherit a beautiful mansion from a distant relative if they satisfy the condition laid down by the deceased owner. They should entertain some unknown guests in the house for five days. Things begin to go wrong when a murder is committed in the vicinity of the house, Mehr News Agency reported on its Persian website.    Asad is in the play along with Farzaneh Shojaei, Siavash Asad, Mehdi Bigdeli, Eliza Orami, Samira Khalili, Razieh Asadi, Hossein Parastar and Ardalan Shoja-Kaveh.
