Iran’s junior table tennis players left for India on October 31 to take part in the 2018 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Qualifying Tournament.
They will vie for slots at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games. The 2018 YOG Qualifying Tournament will be held at the continental level with India hosting the table tennis event.
Accordingly, New Delhi will play host to male and female table tennis players from Asia who will compete over tickets to Buenos Aires where the YOG will take place, Mehr News Agency reported.
Young athletes Amin Ahmadian and Mahshid Ashtari, led by Miaad Makif and Azadeh Sarafraz as head coaches will represent Iran at the three-day event to be held on November 3.
The Indian qualification games will offer quotas to four top athletes in each of boys and girls divisions. In other words, the finalists will automatically qualify for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games, slated for October 6-18, 2018 in the Argentinean capital.
