Assessing Southern Potentials

Head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO) Masud Soltanifar visited coastal areas of the Persian Gulf to assess tourist capacities in southern regions of the country, where he is seeking potential investors. According to public relations office of ICHHTO, Soltanifar visited the coastal areas of the 3 provinces of Sistan-Baluchestan, Hormozgan, and Bushehr. He regarded the coastal tourist capacities unique, and specified that Bushehr’s favorable eco-tourist environment offers a great opportunity for investment. The landscapes in counties of Assaluyeh, Kangan, and Deyr, all in Bushehr Province, are rare in Iran and elsewhere, especially where mountain, plain, and sea coverage, Soltanifar noted, and called the combination favorable for projects on water sports. During the 2-day trip, Soltanifar examined 2,200 km of the coastal strip in the 3 provinces to choose recreational and tourist villages for potential investments. The government is establishing tourist infrastructure in certain areas of the southern coasts before handing them to investors.
