A recent study by the International Center for Sports Studies shows that while Ajax is the club that produces most players from its youth system with 71 who play in the 31 main European leagues, Real Madrid has the most players in the five ‘big’ leagues, with 41.
The study takes into account players who have been at a club for at least three seasons between the ages of 15 and 21, in the 31 major national league championships throughout Europe, Marca reported.
In all of them, the best European academy is Ajax and is followed by Dinamo Zagreb (67 players), Partizan Belgrade (61) and Real Madrid (58). In this classification, Barcelona (50) holds the 11th spot.
In relation to the five ‘big’ leagues (England, Germany, Spain, Italy and France), the European football academy that produces most players is Real Madrid, with 41, Athletic Club (29), Manchester United (28), Inter and Real Sociedad (23), and Rennes, AC Milan and Valencia (22).
