Iran is participating in the 62nd International Belgrade Book Fair in Serbia, which opened on Oct. 22 with 500 titles.
Iran Cultural Fair Institute is attending the event on behalf of the domestic publication industry and presenting 500 titles pertaining to literature, poetry, Iranian studies, art, religion and children’s books.
The ICFI pavilion will also introduce Iranian publication industry via brochures (in Serbian and English), IRNA reported.
Other activities include introducing Tehran International Book Fair, as well as 101 children and teenagers’ writers, in addition to holding calligraphy and illustration workshops.
Inviting publishers from the participating countries to join the 31st TIBF, slated for May 2018, is also on the ICFI agenda. The Serbian fair is one of the oldest and most important literary events in the region. Its basic objective is to enable publishers, authors, booksellers, librarians, book distributors, multimedia companies and other participants to make contacts, exchange experiences and establish cultural and business cooperation.
A total of 500 publishers from Serbia and 50 from other countries are presenting their books at the book fair, while Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Lichtenstein are special guests at this year’s edition.
The Belgrade book fair runs until October 29.
