Painters Association to Hold Annual Sale

The Association of Iranian Painters will hold its annual sale from February 17-March 3 at Mellat Cineplex in Tehran.

The sale will showcase a large exhibition of paintings at the venue located at the intersection of Niayesh and Kurdistan highways.

The opening ceremony of the exhibit on February 17 is from 5 pm-9 pm. On the following days, visiting hours are from 11 am-8 pm, ISNA reported.

The upcoming sale will feature 300 works by 200 artists. An upper limit has been set for the price tags of the works to be presented. It is 40 million rials ($1,046).

Participants are active members of various committees affiliated to the association and were invited to the event through a call for submission made in December 2016.

Some of the works featured are by celebrated artists, namely caricaturist Kambiz Derambakhsh, 75, painter Katayoun Moqaddam, 49, painter, potter and sculptor Arabali Sherveh (1939-2011), painter Arya Eqbal, 54, painter, illustrator and sculptor Reza Bangiz, 79, painter and calligrapher Asadollah Kiani, 70, and painter and graphic designer Behzad Shishegaran, 65.
