All of Tejarat Bank’s staff on Sunday went to office using public transport, celebrating the International Environment Day June 5, according to the bank’s twitter account. The move is in line with banks’ recently-launched campaign to help protect the environment. There has been much emphasis on the importance of using public transport to help reduce air pollution. However, activists say the campaigns would be more effective if bank workers and others used public transport on a regular basis. The Central Bank of Iran signed an agreement this week with the Department of Environment to help promote the green economy and green accountability in the banking sector.
