Iran, China, Russia, the US, Brazil and South Africa are the only countries to tap into electric arc furnace technology in their blast furnaces, said the caretaker of Kashan Governor’s Office Hamidreza Momenian, following the inauguration of Hamoun Alyaj Gostar Factory, the trailblazer of the technology in Iran. “The factory produces silicone steel with a nominal capacity of more than 5,000 tons a year,” Foolad News quoted the official as saying, adding that Turkey will be the main export destination for the product.
