Since 1997 Religion Today has been the foremost international and itinerant film festival dedicated to cinema and religions for a culture of peace and dialogue between faiths, cultures, peoples and individuals.

The only documentary representing Iran at the 18th edition of the festival is ‘Fat, Bald, With Mustache’ by Mohsen Najafi- Mehri.

The festival aims to promote mutual understanding between individuals, peoples, faiths and cultures. Educational workshops on religious cinema will also be held on the sidelines of the event.

In 2011, ‘Gold and Copper’ by Homayoun Asadian won the top award of the 14th edition of the festival.

A total of 53 films from 27 countries, selected out of 250 submitted works, all on the themes of faith and doubt, will be screened during the event held in seven Italian cities, October 9-19.
