The 20th Muscat International Book Fair opened on February 27 in Oman.

The Institute of Iranian Cultural Exhibitions is displaying 150 books on subjects such as Iranology (Iranian studies), Islamic-Iranian art and culture and children and adolescents, Mehr News Agency reported. The institute also has plans to invite publishers to attend the annual Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) 2015, to be held in Tehran early May.

More than 633 publishing houses from 24 Arab and other countries are taking part in the fair either directly or through agents. The fair includes two sections: Al Farahidi dedicated to Arab and foreign publishers and will display Arabic books; and Ahmed bin Majid section dedicated to publishing houses displaying foreign and Arab children’s books.

The fair has 7,848 stalls and 872 pavilions in the two sections. There are 44 publishing houses and bookshops from the sultanate and abroad taking part in the fair, which concludes on March 7.
