Iran has unveiled its first indigenous tubular centrifuge to expedite production of recombinant medicines, and also animal and human vaccines including the Hepatitis B vaccine. In a ceremony at Tehran’s Pasteur Institute on Tuesday, the centrifuge was unveiled in the presence of Ali Akbar Salehi, head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), Dr Seyed Hasan Ghazizade Hashemi, health minister and Sourena Sattari, vice president for scientific and technological affairs, IRNA reported. The tubular centrifuge can be used for high-volume applications in pharmaceuticals as well as food industry.
