Several power projects were launched while work on other plants began Saturday during Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian’s visit to the southwestern Kohgilouyeh-Boyerahmad Province.
The first phase of a 132-kilovolt substation in Choram County came online and construction on the second phase started, the Energy Ministry news portal Paven reported.
Comprising a transformer and five feeders, the first phase of the substation was completed in two years and cost $1.1 million.
The second phase will have two transformers and 10 feeders and is expected to come on line by 2021 with an investment of $4.1 million.
Increasing electricity supply in Choram and the surrounding regions, increasing network stability and improving the voltage status are key goals of the project.
