The International Monetary Fund estimates that Serbia’s Economy Ministry has made significant progress in restructuring state-owned companies and supporting small and medium enterprises. However, risks in some segments remain, the head of the IMF mission to Belgrade, James Roaf, warned in a meeting with economy minister, Goran Knezevic, according to a press release issued by the government on Thursday, SeeNews reported. Roaf was particularly interested in the dynamics of resolving the status of strategic companies and the potential impact of a planned increase of the minimum wage on Serbia’s economy, from the perspective of employers and employees.
